Dr. Laura A. Miller

Dr. Miller graduated from Michigan State University in 2009. She worked at a few other veterinary clinics as an associate veterinarian until she found her home here. In July 2015, she purchased Arbor Hills Veterinary Clinic when Dr. William Schrauben retired.

Since July, 2015, the clinic has had a whirlwind of exciting changes including full updating of all equipment veterinary related and also a full remodel of the building in 2018. Every time you come in something will be different… she promises! Dr. Miller’s passions in veterinary medicine are Dentistry, Knee (Cruciate) Surgery, Multi-modal Pain Management and lastly but MOST IMPORTANTLY Fear-Free examinations!!!

At home, Dr. Miller shares her house with 3 dogs, 3 cats and her fiancé James. She enjoys being in the outdoors with her camera, hiking, canoeing, and even occasionally fishing. She also plays a mean game of euchre and is known to venture into video games during what little free time she has left!

Interesting Facts about Dr. Miller:

Licensed Veterinary Technicians

Nicole Lewis, LVT

I became a part of the Arbor Hills Veterinary Clinic family, August 2018. I graduated from Baker College of Jackson in 2014. Although I was born and raised in Jackson, I am a country girl at heart. I have always loved and had a heart for animals ever since I was a little girl. I have a passion for Veterinary Dentistry and eventually would like to continue my education in that area. In my spare time, I love to spend time with my loving family, Jon (my husband), Alexis Eve (my niece), Xander (my nephew), Bev (my grandmother), Anna (my godmother) and Bev (my mother-in-law). You can also find me reading, dancing, cooking/baking and watching TV/movies – Romance/Comedies are my favorite. I have many fur and non-fur babies alike, I love them all so much, and I strongly believe that all animals deserve to have a long-lasting, loving, and forever home.

Interesting facts:
Fur-Babies: Ella (Chihuahua), Frankie (Long-haired Dachshund), Tinkerbell (Chihuahua), Shoteka (Australian Shepherd), Coco and Chip (Julianna Pigs), Mocha (Potbelly Pig), Buddy, Butterscotch, Oreo, Hershey (Dwarf Goats), Honey (Nigerian Mix Goat), Emmie, Jack-Jack, Catori, Angeni, and Mingan (Outdoor Cats), and Spaz (Guinea Pig). (Eventually we will add Horses to this list and possibly a Mini Zebu or two and a Donkey 😊).
Non – Fur Babies: Yin, Yang, Little Dude (Leopard Geckos), Drogon (Bearded Dragon), and 6 Chickens (3 of them are called Bumble, Limpy, and Pipi, still waiting to figure out the other 3 names).

Danielle Bailey, LVT

I graduated from Baker College of Jackson in May of 2019 from their Veterinary Technician Program. I started working at Arbor Hills Veterinary Clinic in October of 2017. I’ve always had a love for animals, and I love that I get to work with them every day. I enjoy learning something new every day. The dog breeds that pull on my heart strings are Boxers and Labradors. I have a yellow Labrador at home named Otis, and he’s 3 years old. He’s full of energy and happy to see anyone. In my spare time, I love eating, being outdoors, and hanging out with family.

Veterinary Assistants/Receptionists

Andrea Payne

I started working at Arbor Hills in 2015. My boyfriend and I are pet parents to two cats, Lola and Kitten, and two dogs, Bella and Cici. We enjoy fishing and golf.

Becca Woodard

I started working at Arbor Hills Veterinary Clinic in July of 2019, I absolutely love coming to work and learning new things. Currently I am a student in the Veterinary Technology Program at Baker College and will be graduating with my degree and license in 2021. I’ve always had a passion for working with animals and understanding how to help them. I got married to my favorite person in the whole world on 9/16/19. As far as pets of our own, we have a 5-year-old grey and white Domestic Shorthair (DSH) named Melvin. He’s the best kitty and our spoiled little furbaby. I am a soldier in the Michigan Army National Guard and have been in since October 2017. I enjoy going to metal concerts with my husband, rock-climbing, longboarding, and basically anything involving being active and cooking/baking. I’d love to one day work with big cats and exotic animals.

Tricia Jordon

I joined Arbor Hills Veterinary Clinic as a receptionist in July of 2019. I have been married to my husband for eighteen years and we have five beautiful children, ages ranging from 12-17 years old. I have a BA in Elementary Education, and currently homeschool all of our children. We live on an acreage in the country, and I have always had a love for animals of all kinds. Our English Bulldog, Echo, recently had puppies, and this was one of the sweetest experiences of our lives. We also enjoy taking care of our various other pets, which include our four cats, eight parakeets, two lovebirds, saltwater fish, seventeen chickens, and our beautiful Blue Roan Paint horse, Bia.

I enjoy knitting, crochet, and cross-stitch. I love to sing – music is my lifeline! I also love spending time with my husband and kids as we watch movies, go to concerts, play board games, and attend church together.

Veterinary Pet Care Specialist

Debbie McArthur

I went to Michigan State for a degree in Zoology, and I bleed green. This is my second transfer of power here at the clinic. I was here when Dr. Schrauben took over from Dr. Acton and now as the baton is passed to Dr. Miller.

The new office computer and I are currently in a love/hate relationship due to my having little prior experience. Slowly, but surely, however, we are finding a way to co-exist.
When not working, I listen to selections from a large music collection, watch movies from an even larger DVD collection, and annoy my cats. I am also addicted to word puzzles.

Interesting facts about Debbie:

  • Hometown: Jackson, MI.
  • First of 3 born in family on Christmas day

Alysa Earnst
